Privacy Policy

Our Approach to Privacy

Transcendence is built around privacy. The platform does not use third-party advertising trackers, social media pixels, or external commercial analytics providers. It does use a self-hosted Matomo analytics service operated for the practice, so limited site usage information can be collected without sending analytics data to a commercial third party.

Your information is never sold or shared for advertising or profiling.

This policy explains what information is stored, how it is used, and what choices you have about it.

Information You Provide

When you complete forms, reflections, consultation records, or exercises on this site, the information you enter is stored securely and linked to your user account. It is used to display your results, support your own review, and where relevant, to assist therapeutic review by your therapist.

Your data is confidential and is not shared with advertisers, social media platforms, or third-party analytics providers.

Some information may include health or wellbeing information. This may be treated as special category data under UK data protection law and is processed only where an appropriate lawful basis and special category condition apply.

Some information may need to be retained for a defined period in order to meet professional, ethical, or legal obligations under UK data protection law and professional record-keeping requirements.

Session Data, Cookies, and Analytics

A session cookie is created when you log in. It allows you to remain signed in while using the site and normally expires when you log out or close your browser.

The site does not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, social media pixels, or external profiling tools.

The site uses a self-hosted Matomo analytics service operated for the practice. This collects limited statistical usage information, such as page views and link interactions, to help understand site performance, reliability, and general use of the website.

This analytics setup is not used for advertising, cross-site profiling, automated decision-making, or sale of behavioural data.

Depending on configuration, Matomo may set first-party analytics cookies. These are controlled by the practice rather than by an external advertising or analytics company. Where analytics cookies or similar technologies are used for statistical purposes, visitors are given clear information and a simple way to object where required.

Encryption and Security

All connections to the site use HTTPS encryption. Sensitive data, such as notes or questionnaire responses, may also be encrypted within the database. Backups are stored securely within controlled systems.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to your personal data and to ask for correction or removal of information that is no longer required, subject to any professional, ethical, or legal obligations to retain certain records.

A Delete My Data function may allow you to remove certain personal reflections and other non-clinical content directly. Records that must be retained under professional standards will be archived securely and not used for unrelated purposes.

You may also request a copy of the data held about you or ask for clarification about how it is managed.

Legal Basis and Hosting

Transcendence operates in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Data is processed on lawful bases including consent, contract, legitimate interests, and professional or legal obligations, depending on the nature of the information and the service being provided.

Some information entered into forms, consultation records, reflections, or therapeutic exercises may include health or wellbeing information. This may be treated as special category data under UK data protection law and is processed only where an appropriate lawful basis and special category condition apply.

The site is hosted on infrastructure selected and managed for the practice. It does not use third-party advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or external commercial analytics providers.

Contact

For privacy questions, data access requests, correction requests, or removal requests, please contact the therapist directly through the contact form or the details provided on the About page.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal data is handled.

Privacy here is not an accessory. It is part of the therapeutic trust Transcendence is built on.
